 This is a photo of Dann's grandfather Clay Isham. He was born in 1880. Here, at 18 years of age, he's playing his old slothead acoustic with a big fat G chord. About 30 years ago, Dann made some recordings with this guitar, using a steel bar, and tuned to an open chord, because the neck was out so bad it couldn't be fretted. It is remotely possible to get copies of these on request.
